Barbara Smith (Michael's Mom) Checks In With A Blog...
Posted by: Barbara Smith

Dear Friends,

Just a glimpse from a MWS cruise!

What a joy it has been to be part of two MWS cruise trips!  To view
God's creation from different parts of our world has been incredible
and reminds me daily of His Almighty and Awesome Power!

His blessings are unlimited, whether it is "Smitty Okie"; Chaz and
Joey running around trying to time everyone's song to a couple of
minutes (this in itself deserves a Grammy); the wonderful crew who try
to take care of our every need, memorize our names, entertain us, make
animals from the towels, chocolate on our pillows at bedtime,
directing us when we get lost on the ship and doing everything they
can to make sure we enjoy every minute of our trip.  The food is
incredible and is available about any time of day!

There are daily opportunities to hear God's word through inspirational
speakers, worship leaders, musicians, and bible study.

But for us, I have to say the fellowship and relationships we have
built throughout these weeks are priceless.  We enjoy listening to
people's stories and sharing life with them and have been richly
blessed with dear friends from all over the US and Sweden and still
stay in touch with them through email and visits.  God speaks to us in
many ways and He has used these people in a mighty way, as we have
become prayer partners. We have a dear young male friends whom we
invited to join us on the cruise last summer.  The night before we
boarded the ship he met a beautiful girl at the hotel, introduced
himself, and they became friends.  She is from Columbia, South
America.  On the return flight from the cruise they met again in the
airport; both returned home and began to date on the phone every
night.  They did a study of Rick Warren's book every night for a year
and after several visits they married one year later from the date
they met.  Isn't God Awesome!

So, join us, as we again look forward to new relationships and rich
blessings as we head to Alaska!

In Christ,

Barbara and Paul Smith
(Smitty's Mom and Dad)

Thanks for this. I got the link from a comment you left at another site and found it to be a great compilation of the story thus far.

Dear Mrs. Smith, - 2010-04-02
Thank you so much for sharing this blog with us! Alaska truly is a place that takes one's breath away, and my family & I are privileged to join in on this voyage. We look forward to the beautiful scenery & God's marvelous works, and to worshiping together with everyone (the best part of course :). God bless you, and see you on the cruise ship :)

Barabara it is so wonderful to listen to you praise Our Father and how joyously you receive His gifts! An Alaskan cruise is an exceptional way to commune with His distinctive majestic nature! Our family is not yet boarding and perhaps next time will be it! (Salmon fishing in Alaska is awesome, and a dream of my husband John's!!) I am praying for a beautiful and calm trip as you all worship and praise The King of Kings! It is a blessing that you are a part of the tremendous ministry in your family; Michael and his truly as well, that you and Paul can share the trip. We are all one big family in our church of Jesus Christ, Praise Him! Love and blessings to all, for His Kingdom and glory, MaryLou

Mom Smith - 2010-03-30
I am looking forward to finally meeting you. I bought one of your cookbooks many years ago. I myself am an organic farmer from Georgia and have always loved cooking. I guess I learned from my mom at an early age (I think it was to get out of raking leaves outside). Anyway, my husband and I will be on the cruise and would love to meet you. We are 51 years young and got married in a "worship" ceremony last year with two of your son's songs being sung. Long story, he was a widower and I was a single of 19 years. Sweet "healing rain" on God's part. See you there!
