Day #6: Exploring Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island (PEI)... Cruising Into The St. Lawrence Seaway
I can't begin to tell you what a great time we are having aboard the Maasdam. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite cruise experiences. The ship is great....the destinations are unique...and, as always, the Holland America staff are exceptional.
Today is our only full day at sea - and there is plenty to do. Including just sitting and doing nothing! As I type this - Deaver is reading a book, Mallory is getting a spa treatment and Sean and Allie are at the pool. Not a bad way to spend a weekday!
Yesterdays port was our favorite so far. Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island (PEI) is, without a doubt, one of the most charming places we have ever visited on a cruise. My girls both are scheming how we could move there! I explained about the winters....and they have agreed that "just in the summertime" will be ok with them.
I tend to enjoy just about anywhere new - but PEI captured our hearts to the point - we really are talking about vacationing there someday. I can't wait for you all to see this wonderful place. The awesome thing is - - a $20.00 carriage ride is all you need to cover the entire city...learn a bit of history...and be dropped off to shop.

I'm experiencing a phenomena that is unique to cruising. I don't know if it's the salt-air or the gentle swaying of the ship - - - but my clothes have all begun to shrink! I noticed it this morning between 2nd breakfast and 1st lunch. Seems like everything is just a tad tighter. Oh well - I can't dwell on that too long. There's a Celebration of Desert event on the Lido Deck in 15 minutes!!!! Don't want to miss that!!!!!
We're looking forward to tomorrow as all the staff here on the ship say the Quebec stop is their favorite.
We are blessed beyond measure. And the only thing missing from this trip is you. But we're excited for next year. Seriously - the only thing that could make this better - is great music, amazing ministry and a ship full of friends. We can't wait for the MWS & Friends Cruise - 2012.
