Blogging?
Posted by: Chaz Corzine

You know the reason I like Twitter better than blogging?  It’s because I don’t have that much interesting to say!!!  I think it’s presumptous of me to think anyone would actually care enough to read paragraph after paragraph of my thoughts about ANYTHING!

I have just enough ego to believe that people find me interesting 140 characters at a time.

You can follow Chaz @ www.twitter.com/chazcorzine.

I do, however, find other people interesting and thought provoking.  One of those great thinkers I enjoy is Dave Ramsey.

If you are already familiar with Dave Ramsey – get deeper involved.  His thoughts and practices are life changers.  If you don’t know Dave – do your homework! Get to know him.  You will be glad you did.

So – I’m going to cheat on my blog and cut and paste Dave’s thoughts about spending money this time of they year:

Back to the Basics of Christmas No matter what your budget is this Christmas, remember to be thankful. Take a deep breath in the middle of all this craziness.

You might have a lot. You might have a little. If you are driving a beater, be thankful for that beater. You would rather drive that than walk, wouldn't you? There is always something to be thankful for.

That's what contentment is all about. When you understand and really grasp contentment, it becomes easier to save money and invest. Stress slowly disappears. Budgeting is easier. Relationships improve.

Be happy with what you have. More than three billion people, almost half the world, live on $2.50 a day. Sometimes we need a little perspective to become content with our current situation.

Without contentment, it's easy to be bitter and apathetic. Happiness is sold to us, especially during this time of year. We think if we can just get one more piece of stuff that "true" happiness will be right around the corner.

We say things like, "I'll be happy when I get that house!" or "I'll be happy when I get that new car!" But happiness cannot be bought. Sure fun—in the form of a house, a car, a new LCD television—can be bought, but fun is temporary. True happiness, or contentment, is lasting.

You can get out of debt, save money, and get on a budget, but until you realize that stuff doesn’t bring contentment, you will always feel stressed and unhappy. Contentment brings peace. And isn’t this time of year about bringing "peace on earth and good will toward men"?

Remember what this deal is all about. It's not about trees, lights, gifts, baked hams, and shopping malls. It’s about a little child who was born in a manger and grew up to die on a cross. It’s about peace on earth and good will toward men.

So if the Christmas frenzy is wearing you out, you've missed the point of Christmas. Make a plan with your money, and make a plan to get back in touch with the true meaning of this special day.

You are invited to Dave's Give Like No One Else Christmas at DaveRamsey.com. Daily giveaways and great articles will make you want to check back every day to see what's new.

What can I say? I think that if more people truly knew what Christmas was all about, the aspect of the season, they would be much happier. It seems that these days are filled with the rush of having to get that one item on sale, but there is so much more. Hopefully the true meaning of the season, Jesus, will stand out more this year than in years past. May God Bless You Richly.

The Heart of Christmas - 2009-12-06
I would love to gain the perspective of one of those who feels blessed when they only make $2.50 a day.. one that could see the hope Jesus brings us and be standing with nothing. It's easy to talk about this perspective when we have so much.. but not so easy when we don't.. when we are struggling to pay our bills.. living from month to month not knowing where the money will come from to pay the bills.. We see people with big homes, comfy furnishings, nice cars, ...and we wonder.. do they really understand?? Do they really stand in the shoes of someone who has little or nothing.. As compared to the person with only $2.50, I'm rich..but as compared to many others, I am very poor..Hold onto Jesus with all of your might.. because the world is hard.. and those of us that know him.."Jesus" know that He and He alone is our hope...that all this we see around us.. is merely a facade that can be taken away in a moment..The reality is JESUS and JESUS only.. God Bless you

I guess it is best if people are in touch with the true meaning of Christmas rather than getting involved with the commercialism of it. I personally like to give at Christmastime understanding the true meaning of Christmas and to not get involved in the commercialism of it. Love in Jesus, Neeta
