"I got involved through Joe White who runs the camp. They used one of my songs - Friends - as the theme song back in 1983 and ever since then I've written a theme song for them every year. As a matter of fact, a lot of these songs have ended up on my records." "I wish I had known about this camp when I was growing up. It's life-changing. Kanakuk Kamps is a Christian athletic camp for campers aged 7 to 18. Founded in 1926 near Branson, Missouri, Kanakuk has nurtured more than 100,000 boys and girls by building Christian character in an arena of unmatched athletic opportunity. The Kanakuk umbrella actually included seven camps in southwest Missouri and one camp in Colorado.
