How Do You Measure A Year? Recapping 2010.
As 2010 comes to a close we go back through the year and try to review all things "Smitty":
2010 was one of the busiest years of Michael's career. First we'll show you a month by month recap and then we have reposted ALL of the behind the scenes videos from throughout the year. Enjoy.
January 2010:
- Michael was in the studio recording what would become his album WONDER
- The Earthquake in Haiti hit on January 12th and took everyone's focus to where it was needed. The people of Haiti needed help and Michael found his way there with Samaritan's Purse
- "Come Together Now" became
a reality as Michael led the call to the Christian Community of singers
in Nashville to gather and create a song for Haitian Earthquake relief.
- 2 Concerts in 2 Countries (U.S. and Canada)
February 2010:
- Michael was buried in the studio working day and night on writing and recording the album that would become "WONDER"
- 0 Concerts
March 2010:
- Smitty
took a few days away from the studio to play some Early Spring concerts
in Florida then returned right back to the studio to continue working
on the new album, "WONDER"
- 3 Concerts (all in Florida).
April 2010:
- As work continued in the studio tracking the new album - "WONDER"
- 5 Concerts (United States & Canada)
May 2010:
- The 'A NEW HALLELUJAH" World Tour continued
- 18 Concerts (Canada, Zambia, South Africa, and Canada)
- A Massive Flood Hits Nashville & Michael's TN Hometown, Franklin.
June 2010:
- Studio work begins to wind down as WONDER is nearly complete.
- 4 Concerts (Brazil, Costa Rica, and United States)
July 2010:
- The Michael W. Smith & Friends cruise in Alaska
- 12 Concerts (United States, Canada, and Guatemala)
- Michael's new album WONDER is completed.
August 2010:
- 10 Concerts (United States)
- Toured with Sean Hannity's Freedom Concerts
- Rocketown re-opened in Downtown Nashville after having been demolished to make way for a new Convention Center. Bigger and better than ever - you can come tour it and see a Michael W. Smith concert there by coming to this.
September 2010:
- 3 Concerts (United States)
- WONDER is available in stores - Michael's 22nd Album.
- The Make A Difference Tour (with Max Lucado, Michael W. Smith, TobyMac, and Third Day)
October 2010:
- 20 Concerts (United States)
- The Make A Difference Tour continued...
November 2010:
- 8 Concerts in 5 Countries (Latvia, Germany, Hungary, Austria, Romania, & The United States)
- The 'It's A Wonderful Christmas 2010 Symphony Tour' Began with a sold-out benefit show in Tennessee
December 2010:
- 14 Symphony Christmas Concerts (United States and Canada).
